James B. Skipper,BSEE is a graduate from the University of Minnesota, where he met up with Professor Otto Schmitt whose early fame was his "Schmitt Trigger." Professor Schmitt was also a pioneer in teaching Bio-Engineering at the university, way before it became a main course of study. This encounter set Jim on his career course in Biomedical Engineering.
Jim also is a graguate from Brown Technical College of the Twin Cities, where he obtained Biomedical Electronic Technician, BMET, training. He was hired at Virginia Medical Center as its Biomed. Jim also incorporated his company in 1974 and was a dealer for Bio-Tek instruments, Vectoreen, Nuclear Associates, and later with Fluke Biomedical as a Representative. After 30 years he retired from the hospital as the Director of Support Services and focused on representating Fluke Biomedical, until 2012. After 38 years it was time to semi-retire. Biomedtronics Inc. focus on Medical Gas, Ultrasound and Laser Testing products. The company continues to assist its customers in providing experianced customer service at a reasonable price, hopefully adding value to the offering. Biomedtronics is a family owned business, incorporated in Minnesota and satellite office in Florida, and will continue to support the biomedical community for years to come.
